That is a phrase I heard so many times growing up and I can't even remember where I first heard it, but it always stuck.
When Planning an event things can get very expensive very quickly. There are consumers out there that feel like spending more money than they would at Publix or Walmart is unacceptable. Some people would rather order something online and create it themselves than hire someone who is experienced.
- you get what you pay for -
You're not only paying for the item but you're also paying for the knowledge behind the work.
I am a firm believer in creating a budget and sticking to it. Don't live outside of your means to keep up with the Jones'
Invite those who you really want there - no need to invite a cousin you never met
Hire vendors who know what they're doing, go stalk their IG and FB, read their reviews, ask for references, check their business status, etc..
I am a person who supports small businesses as much as possible and I make every effort to make sure that I only recommend those I can trust to provide the best care for my clients. I'm sure there are many people who feel the same way but I always have to be a bit extra. Me being me, being a person who knows what it is like to nickel and dime and shop around while also being a business owner who knows how much it costs to run a bakery I have made it a point to offer a variety of discounts. These discounts are near and dear to me and really sing true to not only me a business owner but me as a financial savvy person..
Military discount - well duh because you are willing to sacrifice yourself for the entire country, it's the least I can do.
Loyalty Discount - this discount is for those who not only order event after event but also those who refer me, leave reviews, and are constantly screaming my name to anyone who ever needs a treat.
Preferred Vendor Discount - this one is a special one - this discount is applied towards a clients cake servings or dessert table servings who has also booked one of our preferred vendors, a friendor if you will, for their event.
At the end of the day you're getting the best bang for you buck without compromising on the things that are most important to you when planning your event.
Always ask about discounts, search for coupon codes, and stick to your budget. You do not want to start the next chapter of your life in debt because lets be honest, you can't take it with you when you die but you most certainly don't want to spend it all in one place either.
Until next time -
Your baking chatter box, Carrie
