Servings

Our standard cake serving sizes are estimated by 1"x 2"x 4" slices. Specialty cakes and method of slicing may affect the total serving number. The customer understands and accepts these terms, and must place their order accordingly after having considered these variables. We provide cake cutting guides upon request with any order for you to follow to achieve the ordered servings

 

Orders

At Care & Co. we prefer a thirty (30) day notice for all orders, as we are continually booked in advance. We will however, where availability allows and depending on our schedule, requested design and the availability of the date, we may be able to accommodate an order at a shorter notice.  Orders will be guaranteed once a non-refundable and non-transferable retainer is received

  • Short notice orders may incur a rush fee of up to $50.

 

Prices/ Estimates

Care & Co. strives to produce beautiful delicious high quality orders by using high quality fresh ingredients. Every estimate is provided based upon the design details as well as the amount of servings you’re anticipating on serving.  All estimates provided by Care & Co. are valid for up to seven (7) days from original inquiry unless otherwise stated. After that time period the estimate may vary based on necessary ingredients and availability.

 

Designs

Any orders placed using a photo or product produced from any other baker can only be used as inspiration for our interpretation of that product. Due to lighting within the photo, color variations, and differences in materials the product will NOT be an exact reproduction of the cake or product in the picture/photo; however we will do our best  to ensure the design concept is kept intact to achieve the vision the client holds. Certain creative changes may be made to your final design for the sake of stability and structural integrity and to ensure the best overall outcome.

 

Design alterations

Your order is important to us and we make every effort to ensure every order is as requested. Please take the time to check the details of your estimate/order and review carefully. It is your responsibility to contact us of any changes required to your original order in writing. We will try to accommodate any changes where possible;. We cannot guarantee to do so and reserve the right to increase the price quoted for any extra work required. Please note, all changes should be made in writing with both parties approval. Alteration requests may only be made until 1 week prior to the event. After this time any change requests cannot be guaranteed.

 

Deposits/ Retainer

A 50% deposit/retainer is required to guarantee your order date and is NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE.  Deposit/retainer amount depends on the total cost of your order, the type of order, and any extra materials needed to complete the overall design. Retainers are due seven (7) days after the estimate or invoice is given unless noted otherwise. The remaining balance is due 24hrs prior to pick-up or delivery for most orders. Some orders may require payment to be paid seven (7) days prior to the date of the event. Retainers are accepted by cash, PayPal/Square, or credit card. 

  • Short notice orders that are placed within fourteen (14) days of the collection date are an exception to this and must be paid in full upon ordering

 

Final Balance Payments

All orders (unless noted otherwise) must be have the final balance paid 24hrs in advance to the delivery/collection date. Final payments can be made by PayPal, Square or credit card, this must be paid before delivery/collection.  

For orders that require final payment prior to the collection/delivery date, we will not release your order to you/designated person until payment has been received in full. We accept no responsibility for any loss caused for non-delivery under these circumstances.

Wedding and large event orders require final payment made 14 days prior to delivery/collection, for short notice wedding or large event orders are an exception to this and those orders placed within 30 days of event must be paid in full upon ordering.  

 

In any event where Care & Co. has delivered a product that IS an accurate interpretation of what has been approved and agreed upon by the client, quoted, and/or invoiced, but the customer does not accept the finished product for any reason, the deposit/retainer WILL  NOT be refunded. If in the event the final interpretation is not as agreed upon the client has the options to keep their order or they may choose to return their order, The client may receive up to 50% of their order upon the refusal of the products not including the deposit/retainer fee or delivery fee.

 

Postponement

If for any reason the event is required to be postponed, I must be notified immediately. The new date proposed will be subject to availability and will not be held at any more importance than any other order per the new event date. If the new proposed date is not available Care & Co. will do everything possible to work out an arrangement to produce the order for the event, if for any reason an arrangement cannot be reached Care & Co. may provide a partial refund of any payments which may exclude deposit/retainer or any funds already purchased for the order.

 

Unforeseen circumstance

If for any reason Care & Co. cancels the original booking due to illness or any other unforeseen circumstance that affects the ability to create/deliver the ordered product, the deposit/retainer will be refunded within fourteen (14) days of the notification to the customer. We will not cancel or reschedule your order unless there are extenuating circumstances. We will endeavor to provide notice as far in advance as possible.

 

Delivery

Delivery is an optional service for an additional fee; however, depending on your custom order, delivery may be required and will be applied to order.  

  • Delivery fee is calculated by the distance and time.

  • Delivery should be arranged at the time of ordering or as soon as possible afterwards.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you have provided correct delivery information and to ensure that the venue is open and available at the arranged time. If no-one is available to receive the cake at the agreed delivery time, your order will be returned to the business and we will contact you to arrange an alternative delivery time; for which a charge will be payable. We accept no responsibility for any loss or consequential loss incurred by the customer as a result. Care & Co. allowable time slot for waiting will be at a maximum of 20 minutes dependent on that date of delivery or pick up, *no exceptions.

Delivery will be carried out in a safe and appropriate manner. Once delivered to the recipient and change of hands has been completed with the product in appropriate condition, it is then up to the recipient to store and care for the cake as per Care & Co. instructions. If anything is to happen to the order after this exchange Care & Co. is not liable for any damages.  Care & Co. is not liable for damage due to client negligence or improper handling once the product has been picked up or delivered.

 

THIRD PARTY PICKUP    

If a third party will be collecting the product on the Client’s behalf or taking responsibility for the product when delivered, this party will be given all appropriate information that would have been given to the client. The same conditions apply as if the client were to collect the order themselves.  Care & Co. is not liable for damages or inappropriate onward transfer of instruction due to third party negligence or improper handling once the product has been received.

 

DAMAGE    

It is the responsibility of the recipient to check the state of the product. Once the item has been received, the recipient has accepted the item as is, and is responsible to ensure that the products gets to its destination safely and/or is stored as per instructions from Care & Co. to achieve best results for taste and quality and to avoid any damage.

  • Exemption

Where damages do occur at the sole fault of the business, a partial or full refund may be given, this will be determined on an individual basis. Proof must be provided immediately, either in person or by pictorial evidence. The customer is made aware that some specific designs or details (topsy-turvy, anti-gravity, sugar flowers, figurines, etc.) are more structurally sensitive than others; improper handling can lead to damage. Assuming all precautions have been taken by us to provide you with a sound structural support, we accept no liability for any damage that may occur once the cake is in the customer's possession. 

 

Set Up/ Display Table

While we try to ensure that your order is presented looking its very best, the stability or levelness of the table upon which the order is displayed or the quality of the surrounding areas around the order is not in our control. Please ensure, the presentation table and/or cake stand is stable, level and sturdy enough to hold the order. Please also remember cakes can melt under extreme heat conditions. If the cake is to be set up by the venue staff, we will leave instructions on how the cake is to be displayed. Once the order has been received and/or set-up, we are not responsible for any interference or damage to the order. 

 

Non-Edible materials

Your order may contain non-edible items such as cardstock toppers, support straws, dowels, cake boards, ribbons, flower or feather holders or wires in sugar flowers or figurines, etc... 

Although Sugar flowers, wafer paper flowers, and other details are edible they may contain inedible items such as wires or dowels and may not be suitable to consumption. On delivery or collection, we will make the recipient aware of any non-edible items that must be removed before the cake is sliced and served. It is the responsibility of the recipient to inform any and all guests what may be consumed, Care & Co. will not be held liable for any materials consumed after being informed of their inedibility.

 

 Fresh Flowers  

Care & Co. will contact their preferred florist for Celebration cakes requiring fresh flowers. For Weddings and large events requiring coordinating floral arrangements Care & Co. can liaise directly with Clients florist and arrange with them to supply the flowers before delivery or at the venue, in order for setting up the cake. Please note that some flowers are not suitable for use on cakes. It is your responsibility to ensure that the flowers you chose are safe to come into contact with food. Flower and details to be placed on day of the event require additional time for set up, it is the responsibility of the recipient to ensure the event space is available to accommodate set up time. If the florist in unable to deliver or arrange pick up time for baker to have adequate time to arrange those details Care & Co. will not be held responsible for any delay. 

 

Quality and Storage of your Order

Your order will be baked as close to your delivery/collection day as possible to ensure quality and freshness. Cakes should be stored in a cool, dry place, preferably in the box that they are supplied in. They do not need to be refrigerated; however, in the event they are, decorations, icings, details, and/ or fondant may alter when returning to room temperature. We suggest all orders should be eaten as close to the delivery/collection date as possible. Any food consumed after 24 hours or later is at the client’s discretion and becomes their responsibility. Once the product has been delivered, the responsibility of consumption is with the customer and, therefore, indemnifies Care & Co. of all liability for personal use. Once an order has been served any remaining servings should be stored refrigerated in an air tight container.

 

Allergies

If your order has allergy restrictions (nut, soy, gluten, etc..), we will do our best to accommodate your request. We ensure all shared equipment and materials used are well sanitized before and after every use, we are baking within a small space and take all precautionary measures to ensure all ingredients used are safely secured and separated; however, we cannot guarantee your order will be free from all allergy traces for your order will be produced in the same kitchen on the same equipment used for all baking purposes.  Please note: Your order is prepared in a kitchen where these products may be used in other cakes and fillings as well as equipment.  It is your responsibility to inform your guests of this allergy information. We will not be held liable for any allergic reaction resulting from consumption of your order.

  • If this invoice is for an allergen or dietary friendly order and you need a copy of your ingredients before pick up or delivery please contact me via email for a complete list of ingredients to be used for your order. All orders will be sent with a copy of their ingredients posted on their packaging

 

Weather

Florida can be the worst when it comes to crazy weather. Heat, humidity, and rain can adversely affect your product. In warmer months, it is advised the product be kept in an air conditioned area or, at the very least, a cool/shaded area. It is strongly suggested that products being collected by the client be transported in an air-conditioned vehicle, with windows up. We are not responsible for any damages that may occur due to weather conditions.

In the unfortunate circumstance you are unhappy with your order and will not be using it for your event, you must contact Care & Co.. You must contact us the DAY OF your event in one of the following ways to explain the situation: (call/text) 727-242-5153 (leave a message if there’s no answer), contact form via website www.carescakepirations.com, Facebook Messenger or Email: careandcosweetsstudio@gmail.com in order for your order to be returned within 24 hours ALL unused portion of the order must be returned to Care & Co. to determine the refund value, if applicable. Without proper inspection of the order and proof that you are indeed unhappy with the product and will not be using it for your event, we will be unable to refund any portion of your payment.

 

Exclusivity

Care & Co. enjoys the creativity of collaborations; however, in order to limit liability and assumption of origin, Care & Co. must be advised at the time of initial consult if the client wishes to provide baked goods or edible dessert items from other providers.  In order to ensure our integrity, no other dessert item shall be provided by any person/businesses other than Care & Co. unless previously agreed on by Care & Co.. It is the client’s responsibility to inform Care & Co. of any items that will share the same dessert table when present at your event. It is the responsibility of the client to provide a list of any other baked goods with their providers name to Care & Co.

 

Publication

Care & Co. reserves the right to use any image of a Product made by us for publication immediately or at a later date which will not require the client’s prior authorization.  Care & Co. will not post any photos on social media, website, or other platforms until after your event has taken place.  Care & Co. will never use any image that is supplied by the Client, without first obtaining the Client’s permission (i.e.: Children’s birthday parties, and photos of the events) once permission has been granted in is within Care & Co. rights to use it across our domains, social media platforms, and advertising purposes unless previously agreed otherwise. .

 

Rented equipment

Deposits are taken for all rented equipment. All equipment must be returned on the agreed date or extra charges will be incurred to cover any additional costs. Any damages to equipment will forfeit or reduce your deposit to cover costs of repair or replacement.  Equipment rental price, deposit and all other charges will vary depending on which item of equipment is being rented, and in what condition and time frame it is returned by the Customer. Equipment rental: *Return all equipment within seven (7) days for a full rental refund. Equipment returned within 8-14 days receives partial refund. Equipment returned after 14 days are subject to equipment refund. 

 

Cancellations/ Refunds    

If cancellation of the order is required, and you have paid your full balance, the refund policy is as follows:    

If the cancellation is up to one (1) month in advance of your event date, you will receive a refund, less your initial deposit and the cost of any supplies already purchased for your order.   

If the cancellation is less than fourteen (14) days prior to your event, there will be absolutely no refunds given.

Continuing Agreement: We may change or revise these Terms of Use from time to time by updating this posting, so please visit this area each time you visit our web site to keep up to date with the current terms regarding your use of the web site. Your use of the web site reaffirms your continuing agreement to the then-­-current Terms of Use.
